You guys, I just love a no-frills side of the road motel when hitting the road for national park trips in no man's land. There is something so charming about their bare bones setup. It's like a tent for those of us who don't actually want to sleep in a tent but love being outside...during the day hours. My key requirements in these situations is: 1.) is it clean; 2.) easily accessible from the route; 3.) is it clean (yes, I said this one twice) and 4.) budget friendly. Ocean Crest checked off all of these boxes. The room was very clean and the check in process was easy peasy. The bedroom even featured green tea and coffee (coffee maker). Located along 101/overlooking the ocean, this motel is only a stone's throw from Olympic National Park Hoh Rainforest entrance and Ruby Beach. Our room was $97 including tax for a queen bed. My only complaint was that the door/door locks could use some repair.  The door wouldn't fully lock or close.

Great weekend! Great food at the restaurant and the most beautiful view available! Staff is amazing and it is an experience not a destination! I have an experience that I can take with me after this visit! Personal care was an overstatement!

This is a dining only review. Late lunch. They allowed us to bring our dog to the patio via the outside entrance. While we were getting organized, they cleaned some rainwater off the outdoor chairs and tables, told us to pick our favorite. Kyle Emory, he has a eponymous business card, was our server, knowledgeable and pleasant without being intrusive; having the patio to ourselves was a plus. Kathy had the razor clams, I had the house smoked salmon benedict, both very nice. The wine list is impressive, we shared a red wine flight, that really hit the spot. When we decided to visit the area, I called. I had read about Crest in the "Only in your state", mailing list, (one of my indulgences). They would have accepted us as a service dog family and Yogi has his tickets punched and documented contact hours, but we wanted to vacate and service dog is a bit like work. We did find a cabin in a dog friendly resort right down the road, so we have the best of two worlds. Sorry about the cliche photo, but that *is* what you are looking for from the highway.

I come almost every year with my family. My girlfriend and I stayed in our own room this year and as usual, our vacation was wonderful. We booked our room about a month in advance and when we came to check in there was no problem. We got an economy room which is the basic of the basic. Granted we were out the majority of our stay it would've been nice to have a small fridge and/or a microwave but we really did get what we paid for.Had a stairway to the beach which draws a path straight down a ravine, really a cool sight to see along with the beach. Even if you're not feeling walking the stairs, there's a beach access near the resort you can drive to and you can drive on the beach. The spa/pool is very nice. They give you towels so you don't have to bring your own from your room and everything is well kept. Mostly used the pool, hot tub, and sauna but I heard the spa is wonderful as well and good rates too. It's open late too so you can go to town for the day and end on a good note.Overall very satisfied with our stay. Would also like to mention the maids, they were on top of servicing our room and it looked nice throughout our stay. Will definantly be coming back for future vacations.

Oh, my god.  I moved to Grays Harbor from San Francisco, mourning the cuisine I left behind.  NOT!  This place has magnificently good food.  I mean, better than a couple of cities I've been in lately; San Francisco and Paris.  You really cannot believe how good this food is.  Tonight I shared the Schezuan clams with friends, and had the halibut myself.  Absolutely fantastic.  And how about the marvelous staff?  Pam at the bar and Jess at everything else.  Superb.

My family and I came back March 2017 to spread my wife's ashes on the beach near the OCR.  It was her favorite place to watch winter storms.  The staff at both the hotel and restaurant were wonderful and very accommodating.  They took a lot of the stress out of the weekend for us.  This is the first time that I really went full boat on the food, so wonderful.  The whole family couldn't stop talking about how good it was.  I'll be back here next March for our anniversary. Thanks again to Barb and family for making us feel so at home.  Your kindness and hospitality meant so much to us.

My wife and I love this place, it's pet friendly, it's right on the beach, the rooms and everything inside are impeccably clean and there honestly isn't anything to complain about. The staff is friendly the restaurant is clean and the staff there are also friendly and accommodating, the food is good (a bit on the pricey side, the view makes up for it) the chef came out and asked how we enjoyed our meals, this is a great place to hit the beach and feel like home away from home. Plus the spa options are a huge bonus!! We will definitely be staying again. (This was our second stay here together in the last year, both stays being just as good as the last)
