Torch Barbershop

About Torch Barbershop Torch barbershop came about as a result of a 14-year-old Jason Johnson’s experimentation on his own hair back in 1989 after his favorite barber was no longer available. Jason began cutting his own hair, although with some flaws at first. Over time, the artistic nature in Jason took over, and he began perfecting his hair cutting skills. He kept experimenting on his cuts and all his friends became impressed by his shaves. Soon, all of his friends started asking him if he could cut their hair. That’s when Jason knew he could become a superb barber. He has been shaving as a licensed barber for close to 14 years now. He runs the Torch Barbershop at 7817C North 2nd St. Machesney Park, IL, near the Harlem road across the Pub Dog and Gio’s Dinner. The torch gets its name from the core beliefs Jason and his team at the barbershop stand for, ‘Teaching Others Responsibility, Character, and Honor’. This barbershop is not your typical barbershop being ran by your typical barbers. At the Torch, they strive to brand themselves as a barbershop with higher standards of doing business, interacting with people, and playing the role of counselor in their customer’s live if they need to talk to someone. They are also their customers’ friends, sometimes the only friends some of their customers have. Torch barbershop, it is a welcoming community where you find both the educated and uneducated sitting side by side. The layout also works as an excellent networking platform for their customers; you find big-time CEOs talking casually with people who are yet to advance that high in their careers. The Torch is also a family- and kid-friendly barbershop. They have a strict policy against cursing with the words ‘No Cursing’ written on the wall of the barbershop. As a parent, the Torch Barbershop is a safe environment where you can take your kids to get a haircut. While at the Torch Barbershop, your kids will get to socialize with some of the accomplished personalities that walk into the barbershop to get a haircut. Often you will find kids having chatty conversations with company’s CEOs, who also end up being their role models and mentors. Torch barbershop also gives back to the community in the form of free haircuts to kids during the back to school seasons. They also have occasional supplies to schools and try to connect to the education system. They are also life savers when someone walks in with a quick and awesome haircut that will uphold their look for that crucial business meeting, photo shoot event or a job interview. Torch Barbershop makes it their responsibility to make sure you look the part and look your best.
